A couple of weeks ago, it was 104 degrees here, setting a record for the hottest July 22 ever recorded in New York City. It has been in the 80’s or 90’s nearly every day since the beginning of July. It’s certainly one of the hottest summers I can recall. Perfect time to start thinking about winter!

What do you do with your receipts after you bring them home? Several of my clients save them — piles and piles of them — so that they can analyze their spending patterns and better understand where their money goes. That’s a worthwhile endeavor. Unfortunately, saving them in piles does not shed any light on your spending patterns. It just creates clutter and causes you stress.
